Activision to drop Sony PS3

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick made it very clear that if Sony does not lower the price of the PS3 then the games publisher will cease support for the console.

Stating that ROIC was much, much higher on the Nintendo Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 last year. Activision ponied up $500 million last year on royalties to the Japanese company whose gaming division netted a $597 million loss.

An SCEE representative then gave a short response about the matter and but refused to comment any further. Well here comes Playstation spokesman Patrick Seybold to the rescue.

Things are really heating up at both ends. Now Sony has a good point on that one. This years E3 announcement has truly revitalize not only the PS3 but also the PSP with some impressive first and third-party titles. But on the other hand, a number of publishers has also expressed their disappointment to Sony for not announcing a PS3 price drop and Bobby Kotick just took it one step further. Stay tune for further updates.
